Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Jalapenos

Cut the jalapeno peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes for a milder taste, or leave some for extra heat.

  3. 3

    Cook the Bacon

Cook the bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels. Once cool, crumble into small pieces.

  4. 4

    Make the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well blended.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Fill the Jalapenos

Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeno half, filling them generously.

  2. 6

    Arrange on Baking Sheet

Place the filled jalapenos on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  1. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the jalapenos are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve with Hot Pepper Jelly

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Drizzle hot pepper jelly over the top of each jalapeno popper before serving.
