Cauliflower

Hot Honey Sauce

Method

Preparation of Cauliflower

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cauliflower

Cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets and rinse under cold water. Pat dry with a paper towel.

  2. 2

    Set up Breading Station

In one bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.

Breading and Frying

  1. 3

    Bread the Cauliflower

Dip each cauliflower floret first into the flour mixture, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.

  2. 4

    Heat Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 5

    Fry Cauliflower

Fry the breaded cauliflower florets in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Making Hot Honey Sauce

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine honey, red pepper flakes, and apple cider vinegar. Heat over low flame until warmed through, stirring occasionally.

Preparing Ranch Dressing

  1. 7

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth and well combined.

Serving

  1. 8

    Toss Cauliflower

In a large bowl, toss the fried cauliflower with the hot honey sauce until evenly coated.

  2. 9

    Serve

Serve the hot honey cauliflower immediately with ranch dressing on the side for dipping.
