Burger Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside on paper towels to drain excess fat.
- 2
Form the Patties
In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form into two equal patties.
- 3
Cook the Patties
In the same skillet used for the bacon, cook the patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness is reached.
- 4
Add Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of aged cheddar on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
- 5
Toast the Buns
While the cheese is melting, lightly toast the burger buns in another skillet or toaster.
- 6
Assemble the Burgers
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place the burger patty with melted cheese on top, followed by crispy bacon, caramelized onions, and arugula. Top with the other half of the bun.
- 7
Serve
Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
