Chill glass (optional)
Place a large wine glass or goblet in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice and water to chill while you prepare ingredients.
Fill the chilled wine glass about three-quarters full with large ice cubes. Using large cubes helps keep the drink cold without diluting it quickly.
Pour the Aperol over the ice. The recipe uses approximately 3 tablespoons (about 45 ml) of Aperol for a balanced, not overly bitter spritz.
Slowly pour the Prosecco (90 ml) into the glass. Pouring gently preserves the bubbles and helps layer the drink.
Top with club soda (30 ml). Add it slowly to maintain effervescence and to taste—adjust amount slightly if you prefer a lighter spritz.
Give the cocktail a gentle stir (1–2 turns) with a bar spoon to integrate the Aperol, Prosecco and soda without flattening the bubbles.
Garnish with one fresh orange slice on the rim or slipped into the drink. Serve immediately while cold and effervescent.
