Nachos Base

Method

Preparation of Black Beans

  1. 1

    Prepare the Black Beans

In a medium saucepan, combine the canned black beans, ground cumin, garlic powder, and salt. Heat over medium heat until warmed through, about 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Guacamole Preparation

  1. 2

    Make Guacamole

In a bowl, mash the ripe avocados with a fork. Stir in lime juice, salt, diced tomatoes, chopped cilantro, and diced red onion until combined. Set aside.

Chipotle Crema Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare Chipotle Crema

In a small bowl, mix sour cream, chopped chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, lime juice, and salt until smooth. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

Assembling the Nachos

  1. 4

    Layer the Nachos

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread tortilla chips evenly on a large baking sheet. Evenly distribute the warm black beans over the chips, followed by shredded Monterey Jack cheese.

  2. 5

    Bake the Nachos

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  3. 6

    Add Toppings

Remove the nachos from the oven and top with guacamole and chipotle crema. Serve immediately with additional toppings as desired.
