Method
Base - Rim jars with vanilla icing and Fruity Pebbles
- 1
- 2
Place the vanilla icing in a shallow bowl. In another shallow bowl, place crushed Fruity Pebbles.
- 3
Prepare strawberry whipped cream
- 4
Chill a mixing bowl and whisk (or beaters) in the freezer for 5 minutes to help the cream whip up better.
- 5
- 6
Transfer whipped cream to a piping bag fitted with a star tip and refrigerate until ready to assemble.
Prepare mix-ins (Trix, Rice Krispy Treats, Pop-Tart bites)
- 7
Lightly crush Trix cereal: place cereal in a zip-top bag and gently crush with your hands or a rolling pin so you have a mix of small pieces and some crumbs for texture.
- 8
Cut Rice Krispies Treats into approximately 1/2-inch cubes. If store-bought, chill briefly so they hold their shape while cutting.
- 9
Cut Pop-Tarts into 1/2-inch bite pieces. If they are too soft, toast lightly for 20–30 seconds to firm slightly, then cool before cutting.
Prepare drizzles
- 10
Melt the white chocolate chips or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 20–25 second bursts, stirring between each burst until smooth. If too thick, stir in 1 tsp neutral oil to loosen slightly.
- 11
Place colored candy melts or gel icings in separate small microwave-safe bowls; microwave briefly (10–15 seconds) and stir until smooth. Transfer each color to a small squeeze bottle or use spoons for drizzling.
Assemble Clockwork Crunch
- 12
- 13
Spoon or scoop about 3/4 cup of ice cream into the bottom of each prepared jar (for 4 jars). Add a few Pop-Tart bites and a couple Rice Krispy Treat cubes, then add another 3/4 cup of ice cream on top. Gently press to settle, leaving room for whipped cream.
- 14
Top each assembled jar with a generous swirl of the strawberry whipped cream from the piping bag.
- 15
Scatter the remaining Trix pieces, Rice Krispy Treat chunks, and Pop-Tart bites over the whipped cream for visible crunchy layers (reserve a few pieces for garnish).
- 16
Drizzle warm white chocolate over the whipped cream and mix-ins. Add colorful drizzles with the candy melts or gel icing in playful lines and circles to mimic 'clockwork' movement. Finish with sprinkles if desired.
- 17
Serve immediately with a long spoon and straw. If making ahead, assemble through the ice cream step, then cover and freeze; add whipped cream, cereal, and drizzles just before serving so they remain crisp.
