Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Pork
Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and cumin. Drizzle with olive oil and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
Sauté Aromatics
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent.
- 3
Slow Cook
Transfer the seasoned pork shoulder to a slow cooker. Add the sautéed onion and garlic, BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar. Cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds.
- 4
Shred the Pork
Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the juices.
- 5
Serve
Serve the pulled pork on buns, with additional BBQ sauce if desired. Enjoy!
