Method
Preparation
- 1
Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the applewood-smoked bacon until crispy, about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally. Once done, transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess fat.
- 2
Toast the Bread
In the same skillet, or using a toaster, toast the Texas toast slices until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- 3
Prepare the Tomato
While the bacon is cooking, wash and slice the large tomato into thin slices.
- 4
Wash the Lettuce
Rinse the romaine lettuce leaves under cold water and pat dry using a paper towel.
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toasted Texas toast. On two of the slices, layer the lettuce, followed by the tomato slices, and then the crispy bacon.
- 6
Complete the Sandwich
Top with the remaining slices of Texas toast, mayonnaise side down. Press down gently to secure the sandwich.
- 7
Slice and Serve
Slice the sandwiches in half diagonally and serve immediately.
