Wine Pour (The Calling "Dutton Ranch")

Method

Wine Pour (The Calling "Dutton Ranch")

  1. 1

    Chill bottle if needed

If the bottle is not already chilled, place it in an ice bucket with ice and 250 ml of filtered water for 10–15 minutes until it reaches 45–50°F (7–10°C). If you have refrigeration time, chill the bottle upright in the fridge for at least 2 hours beforehand.

  2. 2

    Prepare decant (optional)

If the wine has been stored for some time or you prefer a slightly aerated pour, open the bottle and let it breathe in the opened bottle for 10–15 minutes. For a light decant, pour slowly into a clean decanter; for immediate service, skip decanting and serve directly from bottle.

  3. 3

    Measure and pour

Place each white wine glass on a flat surface. Pour approximately 5–6 ounces (150–180 ml) of The Calling Dutton Ranch Chardonnay into each glass, filling to about one-third to allow room for aroma.

Glass & Garnish

  1. 4

    Prepare glasses

If glasses are slightly warm, rinse briefly with very cold water and wipe dry to keep the wine crisp. Use clean, unstained glasses for best aroma and presentation.

  2. 5

    Optional garnish

For a light aromatic accent, float a thin lemon slice on each glass or rest a small thyme sprig against the rim. These garnishes are optional and should not be submerged; they are meant to complement the wine's subtle fruit and oak notes.

  3. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately after pouring. Suggest tasting note guidance to guests: the wine is best enjoyed chilled, with light seafood, roast chicken, or mild cheeses from the 'Interesting Whites' section of the menu.
