Method

Preparing the Tuna

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Season the yellowfin tuna steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Coat with Sesame Seeds

Spread sesame seeds on a plate and press each tuna steak into the seeds to coat both sides.

  3. 3

    Sear the Tuna

Heat oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear the tuna steaks for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, then remove from the skillet and let rest.

Cooking the Asian Noodles

  1. 4

    Cook the Noodles

Bring a pot of water to boil and cook the Asian noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. 5

    Toss with Sauce

In a bowl, mix together sesame oil and soy sauce. Toss the cooked noodles with this mixture and add chopped green onions and julienned carrots.

Making the Wasabi Cream

  1. 6

    Prepare the Wasabi Cream

In a small bowl, combine sour cream and wasabi paste, mixing well until smooth. Adjust wasabi to taste.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

On a serving plate, place a generous portion of the Asian noodles. Slice the seared tuna and arrange it on top of the noodles.

  2. 8

    Add Garnishes

Drizzle honey soy sauce over the tuna and noodles. Add pickled ginger on the side and a dollop of wasabi cream for serving.
