Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt to the water.

  2. 2

    Cook Linguini

Add the linguini to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the linguini and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Preparing Shrimp Scampi

  1. 4

    Heat Oil and Butter

In a large skillet over medium heat, add 2 tbsp of olive oil and 4 tbsp of butter. Let the butter melt and sizzle.

  2. 5

    Sauté Garlic

Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 6

    Cook Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and are cooked through.

  4. 7

    Add Lemon Juice and Seasoning

Stir in the lemon juice, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix well.

  5. 8

    Combine with Pasta

Add the cooked linguini to the skillet with the shrimp. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Serve the linguini and shrimp scampi hot, garnished with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of fresh parsley.
