Directions

1

Prepare the Marinade

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the white miso paste, mirin, sake, brown sugar, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Whisk well until the mixture is smooth and the sugar is dissolved.

2

Marinate the Cod

Place the black cod fillets in a shallow dish and pour the miso marinade over the fish. Ensure all pieces are well coated. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for deeper flavor.

3

Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 375°F or 190°C). Make sure the grill grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.

4

Grill the Cod

Remove the black cod from the marinade, letting any excess marinade drip off. Place the fish on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Be careful not to overcook.

5

Prepare the Rice

While the cod is grilling, heat the cooked rice in a separate pot or microwave until warm. You can season the rice with a pinch of salt if desired.

6

Serve

Once the black cod is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a minute. Serve the miso glazed black cod over a bed of warm rice, garnished with sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
