Preparation

  1. 1

    Hot Version

In a small saucepan, combine the Gekkeikan sake and water. Heat over medium heat until warm but not boiling.

  2. 2

    Infuse the Tea

Add the green tea leaves to the warm sake mixture. Let steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

  3. 3

    Sweeten and Serve

Remove the tea leaves and stir in honey to taste. Serve hot in cups with a slice of lemon in each.

  4. 4

    Cold Version

For a cold version, follow steps 1 and 2, then let the mixture cool to room temperature before refrigerating for at least an hour.

  5. 5

    Serve Chilled

Serve the chilled version over ice with fresh lemon slices.
