Method
For the Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss to coat evenly and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs. In another bowl, mix the cornstarch and all-purpose flour to create the breading mixture.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Dip each marinated wing into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Then coat thoroughly with the cornstarch and flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere. Place the breaded wings on a wire rack.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully add the breaded chicken wings in batches to the hot oil, frying for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Make sure not to overcrowd the pot.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried wings from the oil and drain on paper towels. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
