Prepare Coffee Mixture

Brew the Coffee
Brew strong coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature.

Mix Coffee and Liqueur
In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee with coffee liqueur.
Prepare Mascarpone Mixture

Whisk Egg Yolks
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone
Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until fully incorporated.

Whip Heavy Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well blended.
Assemble Tiramisu

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they soak but do not become soggy.

Layer Ingredients
Place a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

Repeat Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
Serve

Dust with Cocoa
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings if desired.

Slice into squares and serve chilled.
