Ladyfingers

Mascarpone Mixture

Method

Prepare Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew the Coffee

Brew strong coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Mix Coffee and Liqueur

In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee with coffee liqueur.

Prepare Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 3

    Whisk Egg Yolks

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

  2. 4

    Add Mascarpone

Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until fully incorporated.

  3. 5

    Whip Heavy Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

  4. 6

    Combine Mixtures

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well blended.

Assemble Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they soak but do not become soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer Ingredients

Place a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

  3. 9

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

  4. 10

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.

Serve

  1. 11

    Dust with Cocoa

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings if desired.

  2. 12

    Slice and Serve

Slice into squares and serve chilled.
