Panna Cotta Base

Method

Panna Cotta Base

  1. 1

    Prepare Gelatin

In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over the water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it blooms and becomes gelatinous.

  2. 2

    Heat Cream Mixture

In a medium saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat until the mixture is hot but not boiling.

  3. 3

    Add Vanilla and Gelatin

Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.

  4. 4

    Cool and Pour

Let the mixture cool slightly, then pour it into individual serving cups or molds. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

Berry Sauce

  1. 5

    Prepare Berries

In a saucepan, combine the mixed berries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until the berries break down and the mixture thickens slightly, about 5-10 minutes.

  2. 6

    Blend (Optional)

For a smoother sauce, you can blend the mixture using an immersion blender or a regular blender until desired consistency is reached. Strain if desired.

  3. 7

    Cool and Serve

Allow the berry sauce to cool to room temperature. Once the panna cotta has set, top each serving with the berry sauce before serving.
