   Prepare the Mixing Glass

   Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes to chill it. Allow it to sit for a minute to ensure the glass is cold.

   Mix the Ingredients

   Pour 2 oz of vodka and 0.5 oz of dry vermouth into the mixing glass with ice.

   Stir the Mixture

   Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds. This will chill the drink and dilute it slightly.

   Strain into Glass

   Remove the ice from the chilled martini glass and use a strainer to pour the mixture into the glass.

   Garnish and Serve

   Garnish with an olive or a twist of lemon peel. Serve immediately.
