Method

Preparing the Garlic Butter

    Melt the Butter

    In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until completely liquid.

    Mince the Garlic

    While the butter is melting, peel and mince the garlic cloves finely.

    Combine Ingredients

    Once the butter is melted, remove it from the heat and stir in the minced garlic, chopped fresh parsley, salt, and black pepper until well mixed.

Preparing the Marinara Sauce

    Heat Olive Oil

    In a saucepan over medium heat, add the olive oil and heat for 1 minute.

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

    Add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar to the pan. Stir well.

    Simmer the Sauce

    Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Preparing the Garlic Bread

    Preheat the Oven

    Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

    Slice the Bread

    Cut the French bread loaf in half lengthwise.

    Spread Garlic Butter

    Using a brush or a spatula, generously spread the prepared garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread.

    Place the buttered bread halves on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.
