Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures that your Bolu Dickal bakes evenly and thoroughly.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Baking Pan

Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan to prevent the cake from sticking.

Mixing Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 4

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until the ingredients are fully integrated.

  3. 5

    Mix Wet and Dry

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently with a spatula or spoon until just combined. Do not overmix.

  4. 6

    Add Optional Ingredients

If desired, fold in the chopped nuts and/or chocolate chips to the batter.

Baking

  1. 7

    Pour Batter into Pan

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

  2. 8

    Bake the Cake

Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  3. 9

    Cool the Cake

Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
