Herb Garlic Spread

Method

Preparation of Herb Garlic Spread

  1. 1

    Soften the Butter

In a medium bowl, allow 1 cup of unsalted butter to sit at room temperature until soft, about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare Garlic and Herbs

Mince 4 garlic cloves finely. Chop 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley and 2 tablespoons of fresh chives.

  3. 3

    Mix Ingredients

Add the minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped chives, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of salt, and black pepper to taste to the softened butter. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.

  4. 4

    Chill the Spread

Transfer the herb garlic spread to a small bowl or container. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Toast the Bread

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 6

    Prepare the Bread

Take the 2 pieces of City Bakery bread and place them on a baking sheet.

  3. 7

    Spread the Herb Garlic Mixture

Spread a generous layer of the herb garlic spread over each piece of bread.

  4. 8

    Toast the Bread

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and toast the bread for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and crispy.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve the Natty Bread

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve the toasted herb garlic bread warm alongside your main dish.
