Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Frites
Cut the potatoes into thin strips to make frites. Rinse them in cold water and pat dry. Preheat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt and a splash of malt vinegar.
- 2
Make the Aioli
In a bowl, combine mayonnaise and malt vinegar. Mix well and set aside.
- 3
Cook the Burger
Form the ground beef into two patties, season with salt and pepper. Preheat a frying pan or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Vermont cheddar on each patty to melt.
