If using dried red kidney beans, soak them overnight in water. The next day, drain and rinse them. If using canned beans, rinse and drain them.

Add the soaked beans (or canned beans) to the pot along with the vegetable broth, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 30-40 minutes, or until the beans are tender.
