Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the pork ribs. This will help the rub penetrate better.

  2. 2

    Make the Dry Rub

In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Apply the Rub

Generously rub the spice mixture all over the pork ribs, ensuring an even coating. Wrap the ribs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill or Oven

Preheat your grill to 275°F (135°C) or preheat your oven to the same temperature.

  2. 5

    Cook the Ribs

Place the ribs on the grill or in a baking dish if using the oven. Cook for 3-4 hours, until the meat is tender and pulls away from the bone easily.

  3. 6

    Make the BBQ Sauce

In a saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes until thickened.

  4. 7

    Glaze the Ribs

In the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the ribs with the BBQ sauce every 10 minutes to develop a nice glaze.

Serving

  1. 8

    Rest and Serve

Once cooked, remove the ribs from the grill or oven and let them rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve with remaining BBQ sauce on the side.
