Method

Bun Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

Add the olive oil and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.

  3. 3

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Cook Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

  2. 5

    Add Vegetables

Add diced onion, minced garlic, and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

  3. 6

    Season Filling

Stir in taco seasoning, mixing well. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.

Assembling the Franchise

  1. 7

    Shape Buns

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a bun and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  2. 8

    Second Rise

Cover the buns with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

  3. 9

    Bake Buns

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the buns for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.

  4. 10

    Fill Buns

Slice each bun in half and fill with the beef mixture, then top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, a dollop of sour cream, and slices of avocado.
