House Red Sauce

Focaccia Croutons

Method

House Red Sauce

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sauce

In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  2. 2

Add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir to combine.

  3. 3

Simmer the sauce on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

Salad

  1. 4

    Prepare the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together the chopped anchovy fillets, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard until well combined.

  2. 5

In a large bowl, place the fresh romaine lettuce and pour the anchovy dressing over the top. Toss to coat evenly.

  3. 6

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the salad and toss gently to combine.

Focaccia Croutons

  1. 7

    Make the Croutons

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 8

In a bowl, combine the cubed focaccia bread, olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Toss until the bread is well coated.

  3. 9

Spread the seasoned bread cubes on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden and crispy, stirring halfway through.
