Meatballs

Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

  3. 3

    Form Meatballs

Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Cook Meatballs

Drizzle the meatballs with olive oil and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 5

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.

  2. 6

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

  3. 7

    Simmer Sauce

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the chopped fresh basil just before serving.
