Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside.

Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes, followed by dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

Simmer the Sauce
Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the marinara sauce. Stir gently to coat the meatballs with the sauce.

Assemble the Sub
Slice the sub rolls in half and place a few meatballs along the bottom of each roll. Spoon extra marinara sauce on top of the meatballs and add slices of provolone cheese.

Melt the Cheese
Place the assembled subs under a broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
