Broth

Method

Broth Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Broth

In a large pot, heat the seafood or chicken broth over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Aromatics

Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the pot. Stir well and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Season the Broth

Stir in soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Allow the broth to continue to simmer on low heat.

Cooking Rice and Egg

  1. 4

    Cook the Rice

Rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then add it to the broth. Let it cook for about 15 minutes or until the rice is tender.

  2. 5

    Cook the Eggs

In a separate pan, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the pan and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny (sunny side up).

Cooking the Fish

  1. 6

    Prepare the Fish

Season the fish fillets with lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper.

  2. 7

    Cook the Fish

In a separate skillet, cook the seasoned fish over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and flaky.

Serving

  1. 8

    Assemble the Dish

In a bowl, ladle the rice soup with broth. Top with cooked fish and place a sunny-side-up egg on top.

  2. 9

    Garnish

Sprinkle chopped green onions over the top for garnish before serving.
