Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a medium bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, sesame oil, minced garlic, and ginger until fully combined.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for best flavor.
- 3
Prepare for Broiling
Preheat your broiler on high. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup, and place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet.
- 4
Broil the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and place on the wire rack. Broil for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice caramelized exterior. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
- 5
Garnish and Serve
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven, let it rest for a few minutes, then slice. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
