Prepare Your Shot Glass
Take a shot glass and fill it with 1 oz of tequila.

Add the Salt
On a small plate, pour 1 tsp of salt. This will be used to coat your hand.

Lime Wedge
Cut a lime into wedges and keep one wedge aside for serving.

Salt the Rim (Optional)
If you prefer, you can rub the rim of the shot glass with a lime wedge and then dip it into the salt, coating the rim.

Take the Shot
Lick a bit of salt off your hand (or the rim of the glass), drink the tequila in one swift motion, and then bite into the lime wedge.
