Method

Churro Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball. Allow it to cool for 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Add eggs one at a time to the dough, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated and the dough is smooth.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil with a small piece of dough; it should sizzle immediately.

  4. 4

    Pipe the Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 6-inch strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting with scissors to release each strip.

  5. 5

    Fry the Churros

Fry churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Coat the Churros

In a shallow bowl, mix 1 cup of granulated sugar with ground cinnamon. Roll the fried churros in the mixture until well coated.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve with Ice Cream

Place a few churros on a plate or in a bowl and serve with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. Enjoy immediately!
