Method
Preparation of Marinade
- 1
Make the Marinade
In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended.
Preparing Tuna
- 2
Marinate the Tuna
Place the fresh tuna steaks in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the tuna, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- 3
Sear the Tuna
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the tuna from the marinade and add it to the hot skillet. Sear each side for about 2-3 minutes, or until the outside is cooked but the inside remains rare. Remove from skillet and let rest for a few minutes.
- 4
Slice the Tuna
Using a sharp knife, slice the seared tuna into thin, even strips.
Assembling the Salad
- 5
Prepare the Vegetables
While the tuna is resting, wash and dry the mixed salad greens. Halve the cherry tomatoes and slice the cucumber and avocado.
- 6
Combine Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the salad greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, and avocado. Toss gently to mix.
- 7
Add Tuna and Garnish
Top the salad with the sliced seared tuna and sprinkle sesame seeds over the top. Serve immediately.
