Method

Preparing the Marinade

  1. 1

    Mix the Marinade

In a small bowl, combine the grated fresh ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, honey, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended.

Marinating the Tuna

  1. 2

    Marinate Tuna

Place the sushi grade ahi tuna fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Ensure the tuna is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking the Tuna

  1. 3

    Sear the Tuna

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, remove the tuna from the marinade (reserve marinade) and sear the tuna fillets for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Preparing the Vegetables

  1. 4

    Prepare Edamame and Snap Peas

In a small pot, bring water to a boil. Add edamame beans and snap peas, cooking for 2-3 minutes until tender but still crisp. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking.

  2. 5

    Slice the Avocado

Cut the ripe avocado in half, remove the pit, and slice it into wedges.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a large serving bowl, arrange the edamame, snap peas, and sliced avocado. Top with the seared tuna slices.

  2. 7

    Garnish

Sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions over the top of the salad for garnish. Drizzle any reserved marinade over the salad if desired.
