Prepare the Marinade
In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended.

Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Ensure each fillet is well coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

While the salmon is marinating, rinse the fresh basil leaves under cold water. Pat them dry with a paper towel, then chop them coarsely.
