Cooking Directions
- 1
Rinse the Jasmine Rice
Place 1 cup of jasmine rice in a fine-mesh strainer. Rinse under cold running water for about 1-2 minutes, or until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and prevents the rice from becoming gummy.
- 2
Combine Ingredients in Pot
In a medium-sized pot, combine the rinsed jasmine rice, 1.5 cups of water, and 0.5 tsp of salt. Stir gently to distribute the salt evenly.
- 3
Bring to a Boil
Place the pot over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Keep an eye on it to prevent it from boiling over.
- 4
Simmer the Rice
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid. Allow the rice to simmer for about 15 minutes, or until all the water has been absorbed.
- 5
Rest the Rice
Remove the pot from heat and let it sit, still covered, for an additional 10 minutes. This resting period allows the rice to finish cooking and become fluffy.
- 6
Fluff and Serve
After resting, remove the lid and use a fork to fluff the rice gently. Serve warm as a side dish or as a base for your favorite stir-fries or curries.
