Burger Patties

Mango Habanero Sauce

Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Burger Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat. Form into 4 equal-sized patties.

  2. 2

    Cook Burger Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet on medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. Place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt.

Mango Habanero Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Make the Sauce

In a blender, combine the diced mango, chopped habanero pepper, lime juice, honey, salt, and water. Blend until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Fried Jalapeños Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare and Fry Jalapeños

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Dip the sliced jalapeños in a light batter (optional) and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly. Place a cooked burger patty with melted cheese on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a generous spoonful of mango habanero sauce and a few fried jalapeños. Add the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
