Brownie Base

Method

Brownie Preparation

  1. 1

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix Sugars and Eggs

In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and brown sugar with the melted butter. Whisk together until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.

  3. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

  5. 5

    Bake the Brownies

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish (9x13 inches). Pour the brownie batter into the prepared dish and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the brownies cool in the dish.

Sundae Assembly

  1. 6

    Scoop Ice Cream

Once the brownies have cooled, cut them into squares and place a brownie square in a serving bowl. Add one scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of the brownie.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

Drizzle chocolate syrup over the ice cream and brownie. Add whipped cream on top, followed by a sprinkle of chopped nuts.

  3. 8

    Finish with Banana and Cherry

Top the sundae with a few slices of banana and place a maraschino cherry on top for a classic finish.
