Pie Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruit

Wash and prepare the fruit. Peel and slice the Granny Smith apples, pit and halve the cherries, hull and slice the strawberries, and chop the rhubarb. Rinse the blueberries.

  2. 2

    Mix the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the prepared fruits: apples, cherries, strawberries, rhubarb, and blueberries.

  3. 3

    Add Sweetness and Flavor

Sprinkle the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt over the mixed fruits. Gently toss until all the fruit is evenly coated.

  4. 4

    Set Aside

Let the fruit mixture sit for about 15 minutes to allow the juices to meld.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Pie Crust

While the fruit is resting, prepare your preferred pie crust. Roll out the dough and place it into a pie dish.

  6. 6

    Fill the Pie

Pour the fruit filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.

  7. 7

    Top the Pie

If desired, add a second layer of pie crust on top, creating slits for steam to escape. Alternatively, you can leave it open-faced.

  8. 8

    Bake the Pie

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the pie in the oven for 45-50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.

  9. 9

    Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
