Lemonade Base

Method

Lemonade Preparation

  1. 1

    Juicing the Lemons

Roll the lemons on a countertop to soften them. Cut each lemon in half and juice them using a citrus juicer or reamer. You should have about 1 to 1.5 cups of lemon juice.

  2. 2

    Dissolving the Sugar

In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice and granulated sugar. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  3. 3

    Adding Water

Pour in the 8 cups of cold water into the pitcher with the lemon-sugar mixture. Stir well to combine. Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more sugar or water.

Flavoring the Lemonade

  1. 4

    Adding Strawberry Flavor

For strawberry lemonade, puree 1 cup of fresh strawberries in a blender until smooth and add to the prepared lemonade. Stir well to combine.

  2. 5

    Adding Mint Flavor

For mint lemonade, muddle 1 cup of fresh mint leaves in the bottom of the pitcher before adding the lemonade mixture. Stir well to infuse the mint flavor.

  3. 6

    Adding Raspberry Flavor

For raspberry lemonade, mash 1 cup of fresh raspberries and add them to the lemonade. Stir well to combine.

  4. 7

    Adding Ginger Flavor

For ginger lemonade, grate 2 tablespoons of fresh ginger and mix it into the lemonade. Let it sit for about 30 minutes to allow the flavor to develop.
