Method
Broth Preparation

- 2
Simmer the Broth
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the broth simmer for about 20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Strain the broth to remove solids and return the liquid to the pot.
Wonton Preparation
- 3
Mix the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, finely chopped green onions, soy sauce, and minced ginger. Mix well until fully combined.
- 4
Assemble the Wontons
Place a teaspoon of the pork filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it over to create a triangle, and press to seal. Then, bring the two corners together and pinch to form a wonton.
Cooking the Dish
- 5
Cook the Noodles
In the same pot with the broth, bring the liquid back to a gentle boil. Add the ramen or udon noodles and cook according to package instructions, usually around 4-5 minutes.
- 6
Cook the Wontons
After the noodles have cooked for a couple of minutes, gently add the wontons to the pot and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until they float to the top and are cooked through.
- 7
Prepare the Toppings
While the noodles and wontons are cooking, slice the char siu and fish cake. Prepare the chopped green onions for garnish.
- 8
Serve
Once everything is cooked, ladle the broth, noodles, wontons, char siu, and fish cake into bowls. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
