Noodles and Toppings
Method
Preparing the Soup Base
- 1
Combine Broth Ingredients
In a large pot, combine the chicken broth, water, soy sauce, miso paste, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Stir well until the miso paste is fully dissolved.
- 2
Simmer the Broth
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Cooking the Noodles
- 3
Boil the Ramen Noodles
In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Add the ramen noodles and cook according to package instructions, usually about 3-4 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Assembling the Ramen Bowl
- 4
Prepare Toppings
While the noodles are cooking, prepare your toppings. Soft-boil the eggs (boil for 6-7 minutes, then immerse in cold water), slice the green onions, cut the nori, and slice the pork belly or chicken.
- 5
Assemble the Ramen
In a bowl, add a portion of cooked ramen noodles. Ladle the hot soup base over the noodles, then top with soft-boiled egg halves, chopped green onions, nori strips, bamboo shoots, corn, and sliced meat. Drizzle with chili oil to taste.
