For the Chicken

Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken breasts and marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.

In another bowl, mix the flour with Cajun spice. Remove the chicken from buttermilk and dredge it in the flour mixture, ensuring it's well coated.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the chicken and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
