Prepare the Apples
Wash and peel the apples. Remove the cores and cut them into quarters.

Cook the Apples
In a large pot, combine the apple quarters, water, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

Simmer
Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the apples are soft.

Mash the Apples
Remove the pot from heat. Use a potato masher or immersion blender to mash the apples to your desired consistency.

Season the Sauce
Stir in the cinnamon and salt. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Cool and Store
Let the apple sauce cool before transferring to jars or containers. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
