Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Oats and Quinoa
In a medium saucepan, combine the steel cut oats and tri-colored quinoa with the coconut milk. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats and quinoa are tender and creamy.
- 2
Flavor the Mixture
Stir in the vanilla extract and agave syrup. Mix well to incorporate the flavors and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- 3
Brûlée the Banana
While the oatmeal is cooking, slice the banana. Heat a small non-stick skillet over medium heat and sprinkle the sugar on the skillet. Once it melts and starts to caramelize, add the banana slices and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until they are golden and caramelized.
- 4
Assemble the Bowl
Once the oatmeal is cooked, divide it into bowls. Top with the brûléed banana slices, fresh blueberries, and shredded coconut. Serve warm.
