Preparation

Prepare Espresso

1. Grind the Beans

Use a burr grinder to grind 18g of espresso beans to a fine consistency, similar to table salt.

2. Tamp the Grounds

Place the ground coffee into the portafilter, leveling it off before using a tamper to compress the coffee evenly.

3. Brew the Espresso

Attach the portafilter to your espresso machine and brew with 300ml of filtered water. Aim for a shot time of 25-30 seconds.

Froth the Milk

4. Heat the Milk

Pour 150ml of whole milk into a steaming pitcher and heat it to around 150°F (65°C) on the stovetop or using a steam wand.

5. Froth the Milk

Using a steam wand, froth the milk until it has a velvety texture and doubles in volume. Tap the pitcher on the counter to break any large bubbles.

6. Add Vanilla Syrup

Mix in 15ml of vanilla syrup into the frothed milk, giving it a gentle stir.

7. Sprinkle Cinnamon

Add 1 tsp of cinnamon powder to the frothy milk mixture for added flavor.

Assemble the Drink

8. Combine Espresso and Milk

Pour the brewed espresso into a pre-warmed cup, followed by the frothed milk mixture.

9. Garnish

Top with whipped cream if desired, and sprinkle cocoa powder on top to enhance presentation.
