Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Sous Vide Wagyu Steak

Preheat your sous vide water bath to 129°F (54°C) for medium-rare. Season the Wagyu steak with salt and black pepper. Place it in a vacuum-sealed bag and cook in the sous vide for 2 hours.

  2. 2

    Caramelize Onions

While the steak is cooking, slice the onions thinly. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and a pinch of salt, cooking until they are soft and caramelized, about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 3

    Prepare Garlic Aioli

Mince the garlic cloves and mix them with the mayonnaise in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

  4. 4

    Finish the Steak

Once the steak is finished sous vide, remove it from the bag and pat it dry. Sear it in a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side for a nice crust. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Hoagies

Toast the hoagie buns lightly. Spread garlic aioli on both sides of each bun. Layer the sliced Wagyu steak, caramelized onions, spring mix, and crumbled feta cheese.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the steak hoagies warm, with additional garlic aioli on the side if desired.
