Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

In a bowl, mix buttermilk, salt, and black pepper. Add chicken thighs and marinate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Breading the Chicken

In a shallow dish, place flour. In another dish, beat the eggs. Remove chicken from marinade, let excess drip off, then dredge in flour, dip in egg, and return to flour. Ensure the chicken is well coated.

  3. 3

    Frying the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken. Fry for 6-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Brioche

In the same skillet, reduce the heat. Lightly toast brioche slices in the leftover oil until golden and crispy.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Dish

On each toasted brioche slice, place a piece of fried chicken. Drizzle with hot honey and dust with black cardamom powdered sugar.
