Brown the Beef
In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, stirring occasionally to break it up, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Mix in Spices
Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Add Tomatoes and Broth
Pour in the canned diced tomatoes (with juices) and beef broth, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Simmer the Chili
Reduce heat to low and cover the pot. Let the chili simmer for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld, stirring occasionally.

Serve the Chili
Ladle the chili into bowls. Top each serving with a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese and a dollop of sour cream. Serve hot.
