Steak

Chopped Caesar Salad

Garlic Basil Aioli

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Steak

Season the striploin steak with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Frites Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Frites

Peel and cut the russet potatoes into thin strips. Rinse under cold water and pat dry. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potato strips in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels, seasoning with salt to taste.

Salad Preparation

  1. 3

    Assemble the Salad

In a large bowl, toss the chopped romaine lettuce with Caesar dressing. Add croutons and grated Parmesan cheese, mixing well.

Aioli Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the Garlic Basil Aioli

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic cloves, chopped fresh basil, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well until smooth.

Serving

  1. 5

    Plate the Dish

Slice the rested steak and serve alongside crispy frites and the chopped Caesar salad. Drizzle with garlic basil aioli or serve on the side.
