Method

Tiramisu Assembly

  1. 1

    Prepare the Coffee

Brew the espresso coffee and allow it to cool slightly. If using coffee liqueur, mix it into the coffee while it is still warm.

  2. 2

    Beat the Egg Yolks

In a mixing bowl, separate the egg yolks from the whites. Add the granulated sugar to the egg yolks and beat with a mixer until the mixture is pale and creamy, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Mascarpone

Gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until smooth and well combined.

  4. 4

    Whip Egg Whites

In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold the whipped egg whites into the mascarpone mixture until just combined.

  5. 5

    Soak the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Lay them in a single layer in a rectangular dish.

  6. 6

    Layer the Mixture

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the soaked ladyfingers in the dish. Repeat the process with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.

  7. 7

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.

  8. 8

    Serve

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder using a fine mesh sieve. Cut into squares and enjoy!
